Chapter 32: We’re Getting Married
After the runway show, there was a celebration banquet.
Originally, Lesly did not intend to attend the banquet. But she did not expect the president’s wife to personally invite her. She could not refuse, so she accompanied the president’s wife to the banquet.
After seeing Lesly’s ability to handle a situation, the president’s wife was very satisfied with Lesly. She personally introduced her to the rich and powerful people at the banquet.
In the corner, Ariel and Vivian stood together, glaring at Lesly with jealously.
"Didn’t you say that your plan was foolproof?" Vivian frowned. "Where’s the result? I spent a year designing the clothes for the Starry Sky series. But now, all of them are credited to Lesly."
Vivian lost control and said, "Now everyone thinks that the clothes were designed by Lesly! The person standing next to our president’s wife should have been me!"
"Calm down," Ariel said, pulling Vivian to the terrace. "Do you want everyone to hear you?"
"So what if they overheard?" Vivian was furious. "It was that b*tch who took away all the glory that should have belonged to me!"
"Listen to me." Ariel comforted Vivian. "Lesly’s victory is only temporary. Don’t you know the higher she stands now, the harder she’ll fall?"
Vivian calmed down slowly, but her tone was still very unhappy. "You have another plan? Tell me quickly."
Ariel smiled confidently, covered her mouth, and whispered in Vivian’s ear for a long time.
Vivian slowly changed her attitude from suspicious to excited.
"That way, we will completely destroy her."
"Okay, then I’ll trust you again."
......
Three hours later, the banquet finally ended.
Lesly was forced to drink a lot of wine. She was so drunk that she could not even see the road clearly. She was in a daze and used her remaining rationality to call Harry to let him pick her up.
The president’s wife was worried and accompanied Lesly to wait for Harry.
Finally, Harry’s car arrived.
The door opened. A cute girl with delicate features came down first.
"Mommy!" The girl rushed over and threw herself into Lesly’s arms. "I missed you so much!"
Lesly was drunk and could hardly stand properly. She was forced to take a few steps back as her daughter ran into her arms.
"Lulu." Lesly giggled, squatted down, and rubbed her daughter’s cheeks. "Mommy missed you too."
"Then why didn’t you come home earlier?" Lulu pouted. "You’ve been busy these few days. You haven’t had a meal with me and my brother."
"I’m sorry." Lesly apologized. She then pulled a long face and said drunkenly, "It’s all the work’s fault. It’s too annoying!"
Lulu nodded hard. "Well, work is bad! Mommy, did you drink again?"
"I drank a little bit, a little bit..." Lesly squatted down and chatted with her daughter.
The president’s wife looked at Lesly with surprise. She didn’t expect Lesly to have a child.
"Ms. Pittman." Harry got out of the car and saw the president’s wife, Isla Pittman. He smiled and said, "You are here too."
Isla nodded and looked at Harry. She teased, "You are getting more and more handsome. When did you return? Why didn’t you say tell me? I would have gone and welcomed you."
"I just came back." He walked towards Lesly. He then sent Lesly and Lulu to the car together.
"Harry." Isla followed him and could not help but be curious. "Do you know who the father is? I didn’t know that she was married. Did she give birth before marriage?"
Harry’s eyes darkened. He paused for a second and then said, "Yes, it’s our children."
Isla was shocked. "Is that your child? Do your parents know?"
Harry shook his head and said, "I haven’t told them yet, and I hope that you can keep it a secret for me. After all, this is all before marriage."
Isla agreed and asked, "But why didn’t you two get married? Your children are already born. You two should have gotten married long ago."
Harry smiled gently. "I came back this time to marry her. Ms. Pittman must come to attend our wedding."
"Of course."
"Thank you, Ms. Pittman. Then I’ll leave first."
Harry turned around and walked towards the car.
The street lights shone into his eyes, showing his determination.
