Chapter 44 Let’s Cooperate
"Gavin, I beg you, just take pity on me." Millie burst into tears. "Give me a chance to be your girlfriend, okay?"
Gavin held Millie’s hand.
Millie’s eyes were filled with joy. She was ready to confess her love for him.
"I remembered that I told you since the very beginning." Gavin’s tone was cold and unruffled. "I will remember your kindness for saving Arnav for the rest of my life. I will also take care of you for the rest of my life. However, I will definitely not marry you."
The smile in Millie’s eyes immediately became vicious.
"You haven’t been in good health recently. You’d better go abroad to recuperate." Gavin walked away. "After you adjust your physical and mental health, I will pick you up."
"Click—" The ward door was closed.
Millie stood silently in the ward for a few seconds and suddenly screamed. She screamed and kicked the hospital bed violently.
"B*tch! All of you are b*tches!"
What was he talking about adjusting her mental state? Is Gavin telling her that she’s psychotic with mental problems?
That woman, Lesly, was such a b*tch. Why can’t that b*tch just die?
She had spent so much money and spent so much effort. Why was this bitch still alive?
"I’m going to stab her to death!" Millie gnashed her teeth in anger and said, "I’m going to stab her to death now! That b*tch is an eyesore!"
Millie pushed open the door and rushed out.
On the way, a nurse pushing a cart happened to pass by Millie. When Millie saw that there was a pair of surgical scissors on the small cart, she grabbed the scissors and went upstairs.
"Hey, miss, what are you doing?" The nurse tried to catch up with her.
But Millie ran too fast. The nurse could not catch up in time and knocked down another patient halfway. She had to stop to support him.
Millie held onto the scissors and was about to rush out of the stairwell and into the corridor on the fifth floor. Suddenly, a tall man ran into her and grabbed her by the waist.
"What’s wrong with you, Ms. Morris? Why do you look like a mad man?" The man’s voice was low and hoarse, like the sound made when metal rubbed the sandpaper. His voice was hoarse and harsh to the ear. "If someone sees you like this, I’m afraid they will treat you as a crazy woman."
Millie pushed the man away forcefully. "Who are you? What does that have to do with you?"
The man chuckled and closed the exit door on the stairwell. The originally dim stairwell suddenly became darker and darker.
The man stood right in the shadow at the door, his face blurry.
"Don’t you want Lesly’s life? I am the ’dark’ you have contacted many times."
Millie paused in shock.
"Don’t you always hide your identity? Why..."
"Let’s talk about cooperation, Ms. Morris." The man interrupted Millie. "As long as you cooperate with me, I can help you kill Lesly for free and help you get Gavin. What do you think?"
Millie’s eyes flashed and she put down her guard, "What do you want me to do?"
"It’s a very simple thing." The man bent over, leaned against Millie’s ear, and whispered a few words.
Millie frowned when she heard this. "What kind of thing is that? Besides, I don’t want to..."
"I can give you money." The man’s words swayed Millie’s determination. "How much you want, you name it."
Millie’s eyes were full of calculations and her voice also softened, "Gavin is going to send me abroad. You know, the prices abroad are high, so..."
"I can give you one million now." The man put on an evil smile. "Take it as my sincerity for our cooperation."
"Okay, but..." Millie was insatiable. "Before I left, I want Lesly to suffer. Even if I don’t want her life, I would like to see her have her dignity swept away and being scolded by thousands of people."
"Alright," the man said obediently. "I’ll listen to whatever you say, my respected Ms. Morris."
