Chapter 47 Even if You’re My Grandfather, It Won’t Do
In the computer room, Arnav sat cross-legged on the computer chair. He stared at the computer screen in front of him without blinking.
He was watching the surveillance video at the gate of the house.
As soon as Lesly appeared at the gate, Arnav saw her through the cameras. He immediately opened the video and recorded every minute that Lesly appeared.
Through the monitors, he heard his father and Lesly’s whole conversation.
It turned out that Lesly had come back to take him away.
Arnav bent his knees and hugged his legs tightly.
Would he be willing to go with Lesly?
He did not know...
Arnav buried his face in his knees. He really wanted his mother badly, but... that woman had indeed abandoned her and given birth to another daughter.
Knock! Knock! Someone knocked on his door.
"Arnav, I’m coming in," Gavin called out and opened the door.
Arnav quickly closed the video and pretended to be writing some programming code.
"Do you want something to eat?" Gavin put the thermos on the table and opened it. It was some simple home-cooked dishes. The food looked ordinary but it smelled and looked delicious.
Arnav glanced at the food a few times. He wanted to reject the food, but the smell was too tempting. He swallowed his saliva and slipped down the chair.
Gavin prepared two plates and some cutlery for him to eat with Arnav.
"Didn’t you eat already?" Arnav was dissatisfied. "Why are you eating my dinner?"
"I am hungry again. Can’t I eat?" Gavin picked up his cutlery to eat a piece of beef.
Arnav immediately covered the plate of beef and said with possessiveness, "You can’t eat this. These are all mine."
Gavin decisively gave up on eating the beef and stretched to another plate of vegetables
"I told you I don’t want to share it with you!" Arnav covered the vegetables with his other hand. "Don’t touch my things."
Gavin laughed in anger. "I’m your father."
Arnav said heartlessly, "Even if you’re my grandfather, it still won’t do."
Gavin, "..."
Arnav grabbed the bowls and moved them all in front of him. He then ordered Gavin to leave, "I’m going to eat."
Gavin knocked on the table and took out his negotiating attitude. "Give me half of it, or I won’t bring it to you next time."
Arnav was stubborn and didn’t say a word.
Gavin said, "If I don’t go, will you go yourself?"
Arnav always pretended to dislike and ignore everything about Lesly.
After thinking for a long time, Arnav let go of his hand.
"If you don’t bring it to me next time, I’ll never talk to you again."
Gavin curled his lips in satisfaction. "I always keep my word."
The father and son ate up the two dishes and soup. In the end, there was no soup left.
......
Lesly returned to the villa in despair.
She was unable to refute Gavin’s words. She had indeed owed Arnav too much. It was impossible for Arnav to accept her easily, much less leave with her.
"Lesly, you’re back?" Harry turned off the TV and stood up from the sofa. "What’s wrong? You don’t look so good."
Lesly shook her head and forced a smile. "Nothing much. It’s just that I didn’t see Arvav tonight, and I’m a little disappointed."
"Although you didn’t see him this time, there’s still next time." Harry patted Lesly’s shoulder and let her sit down to rest. "Don’t be discouraged. There will be a day. One day, Arnav will forgive you."
Lesly lowered her eyes and said, "But how dare I say that? In that case, Gavin will know about Lulu and Lucca."
Harry squatted down and looked into Lesly’s eyes. "Then, after you take Arvav away, tell him the truth. If he still refuses to forgive you, you can send him back again. Don’t be sad. You have to believe that there are many solutions to your problems."
Lesly’s spirits lifted a little. "You are right. When there’s a will, there’s a way."
"Yes." Harry smiled. Looking at Lesly, he suddenly hesitated to speak.
"What’s wrong?" Lesly asked.
Harry smiled shyly and said, "My father urged me to take you to meet my grandfather. He is old and doesn’t know when he will leave. So, can we go next week?"
Since she could not see Arnav for the next four weekends. Lesly nodded and promised, "Okay, I will not break my promise this time."
