Ahem...
Guys, about the new novel I’m uploading, and that is ’The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System’, has some problem and I can’t seem to even create the novel but I will still try to find out what’s the problem. If I’m able to upload the novel later on, I will tell you guys. I found out there is another person(Not me) that is uploading ’The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System’ but is not the original version, and the person uploading it has already stopped uploading the story so yea, you can read it if you wanna but according to me, the grammar is kinda BAD.
Oof, no offense to the uploader, translater, and the writer.
Also, super sorry for not replying at the comment section as my phone is broken. I could use my computer to reply to the comment but i can’t like the comments so...when I get back my phone, I will reply.
Some question about ’The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System’,
QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
I have a question. Should I read the novel?
I’m planning to read the mxtx novels but I’ve heard various reviews about svsss that it’s not that good and that some moments are questionable. Is it really that bad?
It depends what you like in a novel. I have only read parts of MDZS (but have seen the live action and the donghua), and just started on TCGF. I read SVSSS in one go and it’s now one of my all-time favorite novels. I think people who dislike it simply expected something more heavy or epic. It has a very light tone, being a comedy (but with some very heavy, sad/tragic characters and themes) and having a very sassy protagonist who’s emotionally repressed and obsessed with being "cool" - which makes the romance very understated and subtle for the majority of the novel. Basically the MC is clueless about the ML’s feeling for half the novel, and in denial about his own feelings for most of the story. It’s shorter than MXTX’s other two books, and the relationship between the MC and ML is the center of the story, so it has less of an "epic fantasy" feel than MDZS.
Personally I love subtle romance and stories that get very meta about novel writing and plot, so SVSSS works for me. It’s also really, really funny and in my opinion very well-written. A lot of stuff is understated, so you’ll have to read carefully to understand especially the MC. I could never guess how the plot would develop, and I found myself getting really attached to the characters, especially the MC and ML. Just don’t expect a classic love story - the characters in SVSSS are all kind of messed up, especially the ML.
As for questionable moments: No more than in MDZS. Considering the incense burner extra and "everyday is everyday" in MDZS, I’d say a lot less, but that’s just my opinion.
Is this more or less sad than MDZS and TGCF? Also, how deep is the plot compared to those two?
I would like to say less sad, but I think the reality is that the sadness is still there in Scum Villain, more or less in equal amounts as her other two works, I daresay. It’s just more "masked" by comedy mainly due to, among other things, Shen Qingqiu’s perspective, while her other two works feel more in-your-face with sadness in comparison without that kind of outlandish (?) comedy or otherwise to pad it out. There are definitely still emotional moments in there though that rival those in her other two works.
The plotting is definitely not as deep. Not only is it her first novel, it is also the shortest one as well, with its main story only spanning just over 85 chapters.
Now, imma go to find out what’s the problem...
