Chapter 34
A man was holding Jenna against the wall in an utterly disgusting way. He was locking her hands above her head. His other hand was covering her mouth. His leg was in between her legs trapping her. The other man was watching the two of them. They both look like in their 30s and they don’t look decent at all.
The two looked at me at the same time. Jenna’s eyes widened scared why I suddenly reached here. I could see in her eyes that she wanted me to leave.
"Let her go." I said lowly with venom, promising their demise if they don’t comply.
The two men snickered. It was the most revolting sight I’ve ever seen. "Or what?" The man holding Jenna asked.
"I’ll break your arm and I’ll make sure to fucking break your face as well." I shifted my eyes to the other guy. "I’ll do the same to you if you don’t scram."
They laughed. The other guy eyed me with pleasure and lust. The two had a silent agreement. I’m not stupid enough not to notice it. They want me to join their little party.
"I said let her go." I growled clenching my fist.
They just smirked maniacally. The guy walked to me like I’m some kind of prey but I didn’t move from my spot. I dare him. Jenna was squirming under the man trying to tell me to just run and leave her.
The guy before me chuckled. "You’re beautiful. I like you. I’m sure you’re more beautiful *****... under me..." He lifted his hand to touch my face. "... pumping in and out of your-"
The sound of a bone cracked broke through the air. The guy screamed while holding his bloody nose. He was staggering and now kneeling before me.
"What did I say, fucker?" I grabbed his collar and punch him again. He fell down against the ground face flat. His face unrecognisable because of the blood painted all over it. He was losing his consciousness as he put an effort to get up.
I noticed the other man approaching me furious at what happened to his friend. I was glad that he finally let go of Jenna.
"Why you, bitch!" He screamed and lunged towards me. I caught his arm flying towards me and bend it against his back and I made sure to hear the bones crack. He screamed from the pain. I then unwind his arm pulled him towards me and met his face with a hard punch. He fell unconscious with the same state as his friend. His friend was groaning from pain and any moment now he’d faint.
"If I ever see you near her again, I’ll make sure every bone in your body break. Two hundred fucking six of it. And that’s a fucking promise, you got that?" I stomped on the man’s face. The one who came to me first. He just groaned.
I walked towards Jenna who was shivering from fear. Her face was wet with her tears. "Are you alright?" I asked worried. She just hugged me tightly and cried. I rubbed her back comforting her. Not wanting to see the assholes lying on the ground, I brought her inside the cafe.
Her manager let her go home early. I was worried for her so I took her home. We took a cab on our way. She was silent the whole while and I let her be. As long as she knows I’m here for her then it’s fine.
"Would you like some coffee? I’m sure you weren’t able to drink one back at Grind House." She asked as soon as we arrived and invited me in. She was sniffing from her now dried tears.
"Sure." I followed her to the kitchen. I sat down at the chair of their dinner table. "Are you alone here?" Worried for her sake, I decided to stay if she was alone. She might be scared right now and I’d like to let her feel secure.
"No. I have a room mate. She’ll arrive any moment now." I nodded. She then gave me a cup of coffee. I took a slow sip and watch her as she sat right across me. She looked at me for a second and started to talk.
"Thank you, Avery." I looked at her waiting for her to continue her speech. "If you would have come later... I... I..." She sobbed. She held it back in and talk again. "I’m so thankful you were there to save me." I nodded. I don’t know how to comfort her through words. I realised I wasn’t really good at it so I just listen to her and just be here for her.
"They looked like they were just waiting for the right time to pounce on you." I said meekly.
She nodded. "They did. They’ve been catcalling me a lot of times. I know they’re up to no good but I didn’t think they would do more than that." She said as she wiped her tears flooding from her cheeks. She tried to calm herself down as she focused on our conversation.
"Well, if somebody’s going to do shit like that again, tell me. I won’t hesitate to break them. You don’t deserve what happened, Jen. Not anyone. A step further would have scarred you for the rest of your life."
"I know. Thank you, Ave... for being there, for being here. I owe you my life."
I shook my head. "You don’t owe anything. I would have done the same thing for anyone. And you’re my friend. It gives you the privilege to be taken care by me." I smiled playfully. She giggled. She then looked at me with inquisitive eyes.
"How did you learn to fight like that?"
I shifted in my seat uncomfortablly knowing where this conversation will go. "I... I went to a military school."
Her eyes widened. "Really? I didn’t know that. You don’t look like someone who would wear a uniform and fight for the country." I raised my brow. "Okay. You do wear a uniform and you just fought for me. T-that’s... you get the point." I chuckled.
"Yes. Well, I don’t really have much of a choice."
"You mean it wasn’t to your liking that you attended military school?" She asked with a raised brows.
"I was a troublemaker back then. My dad wants me to suffer the consequences so he sent me there."
"You? A troublemaker?" Her eyes widened. "I don’t believe it. You’re Sierra’s mediator. You’re calm and level headed and you have this kind of sense that you want to protect people, you know." I giggled.
"Might be because of the rough training. It’s growing on me."
"How much trouble did you get yourself into that your Dad sent you there? I don’t think I’ve met someone before who was actually thrown to military school because she was making trouble. But then again you’re Stefano Ranallo’s driver."
I gave her a small smile as I cross my arms.
"A lot."
