Chapter 59
Stefano finally left New York and now I have the time to catch things up with Jenna and Sierra. Stefano was always holding me up and just kept me to his self. He’d be gone for a month and he wanted to spend his time with me before leaving. The three of us just had a group chat and update on things there. I’ll talk to them when I meet them. We still need to settle things when they tricked me that night. If it weren’t for them anyway, Stefano and I still won’t talk to each other. Nathan and I would be together and I’ll be stuck regretting that I left him and it was too late to fix things. I’ll be forever in ifs. The bell rang as I entered Grind House. It’s been over a week since I last visited. I heard Jenna squealed in front of me. She was hugging the tray. Obviously she had just served a customer when she saw me entering. I looked down and smiled at her. She was quite short. Probably 5’2. She was a bit curvy and beautiful with black hair and blue eyes. "Hey there, Jenna." "Hey." She grinned ear to ear. "I reserved a seat for you. Let’s go." She dragged me towards our usual seat. It has the best view outside. "Is Sierra here yet?" I asked as I sat down. "Didn’t you read her text? She can’t go. She’s not feeling well." She said worriedly. "Oh, okay. Should we go visit her after your shift?" She shook her head with a sad face. "I actually wanted too but I can’t. We have a group project. Our manager was kind enough to let me hang out with you since you’re a frequent customer and she’s fond of you." She sighed. "But after my shift we have a group project to work on." "It’s okay. I’ll send your regards then to her." She smiled at me and said thanks. Jenna and I talked for two hours since she had to get back to work. She was given any time to hang out with me but she felt guilty for it. The manager was kind enough to give her a break. As expected, she apologised again for what happened. They didn’t think I would bring a guy with me- a potential boyfriend at that. But I have long forgiven the two when Stefano and I are finally together. I gave her the details of what have transpired between us- but excluding the sex part of course. Cause that’s just too much information. She’ll probably kill herself from too much squealing. She already ’ship’ us as what she always says. Stefano is a renowned bachelor. He’s drop dead gorgeous and many women are in love with him. Apparently, Jenna is one of his fans. I also skipped the part where Stefano has become obsessed with me. Not really making things up. You’ll know if you see. I don’t think I’d let anyone know that the man they admire treats me like a queen. I used to be so insecure and thought that he deserves someone better than me. With how he acts around me and everything he has done, there’s no doubt I am the greatest and best for him and no one else. He made that obviously clear. After finishing my cappuccino and bagel, Jenna went back to serving and I went home. Nancy and Henry were in the hallway talking when I arrived at the apartment. I greeted them and the couple invited me to dinner. I was so concerned with Sierra not replying my texts. I wanted to go and visit her if she was alright. She was being so quiet and it makes me worry for her even more. Is Ashton taking care of her? I know he’s always busy with his business but still. "Are you alright, dear? Is the food not to your liking?" Nancy asked worriedly. "Oh, I’m fine, Nance. The food is great." I sighed dramatically. "I was just thinking of Sierra. Said she was sick. I’m just worried for her." I frowned as I played the broccoli with my fork. "Oh dear. She’s probably taking a rest right now. I’m sure she’ll contact you when she’s better." I nodded. And then I remembered something. "How did you stop Stefano from coming at your land?" "You mean Mr. Ranallo? That awful billionaire who’s after our land?" She said with a hint of bitterness. "Yes. That arrogant asshole." I giggled as I talked behind his back. Oh, he knew I always talk like this. It pisses him off. "I don’t know, dear. One day his assistant just stopped coming." I frowned as the information gained my curiosity. "When did that happened?" "Probably a few weeks after he took you and made you his driver. It was quite strange actually since the man was in love with the land. He planned to build hotels here. Henry and I don’t know why he suddenly stopped convincing us to sell it to him but we were glad he didn’t want it anymore. You know how much we cherish this land." --- As I lay in my bed, I kept thinking about Stefano. When did he start to like me? To fall for me? I remember when I sneaked inside the ballroom at some charity ball to inform him about some dude who plans to kill him. We danced. We acted flirtatiously and I almost got hit by a bullet for him. This happened a few weeks after I started becoming his driver. Did he stop because of me? My phone suddenly vibrated beside me. Sierra: Can we meet? I hurriedly reply to her yes. I changed my outfit as fast as I can since she was already waiting in the meeting place. It was a bar which we never have been before. Normally, Sierra would invite us into a club but she invited me to hang out in a bar. If my guess is right, I was the only one she invited. She’s probably not sick. She has a problem and she needs someone to talk to. I slid to the chair beside her. "What’s up? You know I’ve been contacting you ever since you went AWOL with us." I said direct to the point. I signaled the bartender to give me some cocktail. "I did not go AWOL on you guys. I already told you I was sick." She defended with a cute frown on her face. "Well, are you?" I paved the way for her to tell me the truth. I was curious and there’s something going on. I can feel it. I know this girl as much as she knows me. She sighed. "I really was sick. I probably still am." I nodded. "Don’t worry. You’ll be fine. I heard bitches are hard to kill." I said jokingly. She snorted unladylike. "You got that right." My eyes traveled to her drink. For someone who invited me to a bar, she ordered a non alcoholic drink. Based on its color and texture, it’s probably some berry fruit shake. I shrugged the thought off not wanting to judge her preferences. I enjoyed the cocktail the bartender served for me. For a while, it was quiet. None of us talked. I can’t help but sense Sierra’s baggage. It was written all over her face. I don’t want to push her. I certainly do not want to be denied too. But I still need to talk to her and be there for her whether or not there’s something wrong. I sure hope not. I sighed. I sip the last content of my cocktail as I gathered my strength to talk to her. "I’m pregnant."
