Chapter 46: Worship Koi Fish for Good Luck
There were two live streaming modes, one normal, like that on earth, the other one the hologram mode.
With the hologram mode, viewers could get close to the steamer. If a steamer sang or danced, viewers would feel as if they were watching him in the same room.
There were two ways for viewers to watch a live stream, a normal one and a hologram one.
However, only when the steamer turned on the hologram function could viewers watch in the hologram mode. Certainly, viewers could choose the normal mode even when the steamer had turned on the hologram function. But if the steamer had used the normal mode, viewers could only watch in the normal mode.
Like Yu Jinli who was live streaming himself cook, if he turned on the hologram function, his viewers would not only watch him closely, but also taste the finished dishes.
But of course, in the hologram mode, the taste wasn’t nearly as good as that in reality. However, that couldn’t stop the viewers from wanting to try it.
Especially when Yu Jinli poured the sweet and sour sauce over the golden, crispy tenderloin, several viewers swallowed hard at the same time, their eyes fixed on the screen eagerly, wishing they could get to the other side of it now and have a bite.
It looked delicious.
Not everyone could afford natural food. After all, it was in small amount and came with high price.
Average people normally went online in the hologram mode if they wanted to eat natural food.
From time to time, pupils of families of cooks would live stream cooked dishes with the hologram mode on so that everyone could have a try. Though it wasn’t as good as that in reality, it was good enough for the viewers.
Lying in his bed upstairs, watching the live stream, Jiang Mosheng was a bit jealous at first when he saw many viewers tried to talk to his little one in the comment section. Now that he saw so many of them wanted to eat the sweet and sour tenderloin the little one made but couldn’t, he was suddenly happy since the little one was downstairs and no matter what comments those viewers sent, they couldn’t eat what the little one cooked but he could.
However, when it was dinner time, Jiang Mosheng, who had been expecting the little one to bring him food was filled with expectancy he himself hadn’t noticed when the door to his bedroom was open.
However, when he saw what the little one had in his hands, his expectancy was frozen for the little one didn’t bring him any of those delicious dishes but a nutrition preparation!
Up to now, Jiang Mosheng suddenly recalled that he was too severely injured to eat anything but nutrition preparation.
Jiang Mosheng: ...
However, that was what happened later.
Now let’s go back to Yu Jinli and his live stream.
Having seen the comments, Yu Jinli didn’t turn on the hologram function since it was his first live stream and he knew little about the hologram mode.
“I’ll turn on the hologram mode next time,” said Yu Jinli to his viewers.
Several tiny white dots crept inside the kitchen and flowed to him.
He saw those dots of Power of Faith. Though it wasn’t much, it was still a surprise.
He didn’t expect that he would receive Power of Faith on his first live stream. Now, he started to imagine himself wrapped up by Power of Faith. How good would that be. His cultivation level would soar. It wouldn’t take long before he could restore his cultivation.
Thinking of that, he couldn’t help but grinning. If the viewers could see his face now, he might receive more Power of Faith.
Though he didn’t turn on the hologram function which was a pity to many viewers, nobody wanted to leave his live stream for that.
Though they couldn’t eat the food he made, it was good enough just watching him cook.
Therefore, after he finished the first dish, the number of viewers started to rocket. Originally, there were under 100 viewers. Now he had over 100 viewers and the number was still going up.

At Mainstay Building.
Though Star Origin was established less than a month ago with its live streaming website went online less than a day ago, it was a company complete in every detail.
Right now, the steamer management department was watching all data of the website closely.
It had a good number of registrations of both users and steamers on the first day, but few steamers had started live streaming today.
For a new website, registered steamers were generally rookies, with some came for the reward. They weren’t good at live streaming and might start in a few days after some preparation.
As expected, two-digit number of steamers started live streaming today, but far fewer than 100.
Staff of this department watched each live stream, hoping to find someone promising to groom.
Zhang Xiaojie was one of the staff. He was responsible for Category: Live Gaming and Category: Other Live Streaming.
Live gaming was a popular category which would attract a lot of steamers.
Therefore, Zhang Xiaojie put most of his attention on that.
With few steamers online today, there were only three live gaming steamers who didn’t seem very good at what they did.
Before he got off work, he decided to check Category: Other Live Streaming one last time.
However, this time he found a new steamer.
Watching live streaming and finding promising streamers was his job. Even if it was time to knock off, he had to stay and keep working if there was work to do. Luckily, the overtime pay was good so he didn’t find extra shift miserable.
However, today would be his most “miserable” extra shift memory.
When he saw the sweet and sour tenderloin with an attractive color came out of the pan, Zhang Xiaojie felt his empty stomach started to protest. Though he had had some nutrition preparation, he still felt very hungry and started to hate its flavor which he used to like.
He wished he could taste the sweet and sour tenderloin. It looked so delicious.
Zhang Xiaojie swallowed hard. He felt as if he was caught in a trap. Eating would probably become one of the most “miserable” thing for him.
Clearly, he wasn’t the only one with that idea. Though there weren’t many viewers, the comment section was lively, which was rare in other rookie steamers’ room.
Putting up with an empty stomach and his eagerness for the food on the screen, Zhang Xiaojie set Yu Jinli’s live stream at the most eye-catching spot on the website.
As a member of the steamer management department, he had one recommendation place and he gave it to Yu Jinli without hesitation.
With innovative and tantalizing content, it would be everybody’s pick.
Besides, he couldn’t stand the idea that he was the only one watching with an empty stomach and he wanted everyone else to join him in this “misery”. That was how “miserable” Zhang Xiaojie was right now.
That also explained the surge of viewers in Yu Jinli’s live stream.
His live stream went on. Now he had over one thousand viewers. If this was some other steamers, they would have sent out bonus to the viewers. But Yu Jinli who simply came for Power of Faith didn’t know that. He was simply happy.
With more viewers, more comments flooded in, many of which were gone before Yu Jinli could read them.
Almost all viewers hadn’t seen anyone deal with natural ingredients like he did. Certainly, many of them couldn’t even afford natural food so they knew nothing about it. They simply felt what he did with the food looked nice and delicious so they stayed and kept watching.
Some of the viewers came from wealthy families, who could have natural food from time to time so they were very interested in how he cooked.
Yet Yu Jinli was quiet when he cooked. Sometimes, he would answer questions from viewers. Most of time, there was no interaction but nobody left his live stream.
“Steamer-san, why do you come up with this user name? What is a koi fish?”
A question suddenly popped on the screen. Many viewers had the same question.
Koi fish? They had never heard of that. Judging from the steamer’s user name, they could tell it was a creature. But whether it was an animal or plant, nobody knew. Was it edible?
“I know that. It is said that koi fish was a fish during the time of earth. It could bring good luck.”
“Really? A fish like that? I want to keep a koi fish.”
“Dear koi fish, please give me good luck so that I can pass tomorrow’s test.”
As soon as that comment was out, it was as if a special switch was turned on. All viewers started to line up and wish him to give them good luck.
“Dear koi fish, please give me good luck so that I can pass tomorrow’s interview. I want this job so bad that I’ve worked a long time for it.”
“Dear koi fish, please give me good luck so that I can meet my prince charming tomorrow.”
“Stop indulging in fantasy. There can’t be a creature like that. If your luck change because of this, I’ll live stream myself eating keyboards.”
“Even if there isn’t, can’t we entertain a fantasy?”
“This is koi fish’s live stream. Will those irrelevant leave, please?”
