~Alessandro’s POV~ (5 years ago) I made all the reservations for our date as I waited for Marylin in the hospital’s parking lot. I’m not going to tell her about the date yet, it’s going to be a surprise. Arms snaked around me as she purred in my ear, "We haven’t tried a parking lot $ex yet." I was reluctant at first but I caved in after few minutes. I fvcked her there against my car, not giving a fvck that anyone can come down and catch us fvcking in a parking lot. Without wasting any time, I reached the Director’s office. I entered and dread washed over me as I saw Kathy sitting there, looking at me with a smirk on her face. But her expression turned to that of sadness when she looked at Mr. Parker. "Sit down Dr. Russo." Director’s stern voice boomed throughout the office. I complied without any resistance. "Do you know why you have been called here Dr. Russo?" He asked me and I feigned innocence. I know really well that it has something to do with Kathy. "No, I don’t know Mr. Parker." I said in a confused voice and he narrowed his eyes on me. "Don’t play innocent Dr. Russo." He growled at me in anger. I looked at Kathy to see she was crying. I furrowed my brows and looked back at Mr. Parker. "I really don’t know what you are talking about." I said in a calm voice but inside I was confused as hell. There is something that seems off. "You sexually tried to m0lest my niece." He said pointing towards the crying Kathy, who in reply cried even harder. I turned towards her in fury. "I molested you or you tried to sleep with me, Ms. William?" I said through clenched. She gasped and turned to Mr. Parker with an innocent expression. "Uncle he called me a $lut and said that I should please him and started to touch my private area and now he is blaming me." She said in a shaky voice. "You were one of the best doctors I have but you’re just a f!lthy person. I want to file a case against you but my niece doesn’t want others to look at her with pity. I don’t want to tarnish the hospital’s image that’s why I’m asking you to resign yourself." He said in dismissing tone. "You can’t make me leave because of something I didn’t do." I growled at Mr. Parker. "So, you’re saying she is lying?" He asked with a pursed lips as he gestured towards Kathy, who still hasn’t dropped her act. I looked toward her and rendered, "Yes, she is lying." "Enough!!" Mr. Parker roared as he banged the table with his fist, "You sexually m0lested my niece and now blaming her? I don’t want to hear anything else from you. I expect you to submit your resignation letter." "Okay!" I stated and got up to leave. He won’t believe my words against his niece so I don’t think any of words will get to him. It’s not like this is the end of my career. I made my way out of his office with a calm face. "Prof. Russo!" I turned my head back to find a smirking Kathy making her towards me. I rolled my eyes and turned to leave but she stopped me. "I think you should watch this." She stated and played something on her phone. My face paled when I saw a video of me and Marylin from the parking lot. "I know you’re only resigning because you have the opportunity to work for another hospital. But my revenge won’t be completed if you start working again." She said with a mocking tone. I quietly glared at her form. My hands twitched to tear her apart with my bare hand. "You know I should upload this video and destroy your little Marylin’s future before it even starts." The more she talked, the more the urge to kill her get stronger. "Why are you doing this?" I asked through gritted teeth. Marilyn has nothing to do with this so why is she dragging her? "Simple, I’ve been after you ever since I laid my eyes but you always ignored me. Plus, I can’t bear the thought of someone having something I didn’t get. So, I want her to suffer." She sneered. "This has nothing to do with her." I growled at her. "No, she has everything to do with this. I want to see you suffer. What did you say? Public property? I’ll make you pay for that insult." She said looking at me with anger. "That’s the truth, isn’t it?" I taunted as I looked down at her. Her body started shaking with anger. "I won’t waste my time on you professor. I want you to leave Marylin if you know what’s best for her and if you don’t want me to upload this video." She said as she played with her phone. “You wouldn’t dare." I gritted out but she just smirked in return. "My eyes will be on you professor. If I didn’t get what I want I’ll make sure to destroy your Marylin." She commented and made her way out of my sight. The whole day I tried my best to ignore Marylin. It was hard but I managed to. That night I didn’t go to her house to sleep. No, I packed my things. The house was fully furnished when I bought it so I just have to pack my clothes. It didn’t take long for me to pack everything. My mind was racing. How was I going to leave when I love her so much? The next day I told her to get ready for dinner. I waited for her in the restaurant and my heart clenched painfully when she entered the restaurant. It will be the last time I see her for a long time. I asked her for a breakup but all I wanted to do was hug her close to me. My words hurt her and it killed me that I was the one hurting her. When she said she loved me I had to do everything in my willpower to not return those words, instead, I turned around and said I don’t feel the same. I quickly drove off as I can’t afford to look at her broken expression. I know she was hurting but I was hurting more than her. I promised her that I’ll never hurt her and that I’ll protect her but I failed her. The more I drive away from her the more my heart clenched with pain; so, I took a U-turn. I had to at least see her once again before I leave so I followed her from distance. It pained me to hear her cry for me to come back. She cried and I cried with her, sliding down the wall of my house. All night I shared her pain and it was like a stab to my heart to hear the pain in her voice. Her cries were gut-wrenching at it haunted me every night for five-years. "I’ll come back." I promised as I got up to leave when it was time for sunrise. But before leaving I asked Dr. Brown to take care of her and he agreed. For five years I forced myself to live without her. For five years I cried myself to sleep with the guilt that I had broken her.
