Chapter 1 Flight Delayed
Bayport late summer, three o’clock in the morning.
"Click"
The door unlocked, and Winston in a white pilot uniform dragged his leather suitcase and walked in the house.
"Was the flight delayed?"
Vera greeted him and took the luggage from his hand.
"Well, the weather is bad." Winston’s voice was faint.
Vera glanced at him and saw a lipstick mark on his collar, and Vera was visibly stunned.
Winston had been seeing someone else outside, she had heard about it.
But after being together for three years, she clearly knew when she should remain silent.
Just like now, she has to pretend she hasn’t seen anything.
Because their relationship hasn’t reached the point where she can honestly question him-
To him, she is just a long-term bed partner.
"Go take a bath and rest." Vera suppressed the sadness in her heart, but unconsciously observed him secretly.
Winston took off his uniform, and glanced at the mark on his collar with narrowed eyes, paused for a few seconds, then threw it into the laundry basket.
When Vera heard the shower, her happy face disappeared.
The phone on the bedside table vibrated violently, and Vera picked up and unlocked it.
"Winston, miss your warmth, I am very happy tonight."
Looking at the text messages that popped up on the screen, Vera could only sigh.
She later realized that she had taken the wrong phone, but the content of the text message made her gag.
The plane isn’t late, but they were obviously doing something that made him late.
Bitterness flooded her mouth.
The bathroom door opened and Winston walked out, wrapped in a bath towel, looked up and saw Vera sitting on the bed in a daze.
"Move out from here tomorrow, I will find you an apartment near the airport, so you can reach there quicker."
Winston laid down next to her, his voice low.
Vera knew that this was going to come one day, but she never thought that it will be so quick, she looked at him in a daze, "Why?"
Winston glanced at her, then looked away, and moved his thin lips: "Elsa is back, she has no place to live."
As soon as the voice fell, the blood on Vera’s face faded clean and pale.
"Because she’s back, you’re going to break up with me, aren’t you?" Vera asked hard, her hands trembling tightly against the quilt.
Winston’s eyes opened suddenly, and he stared at her: "Have we even been dating?"
Vera froze completely, cold all over.
They have been in a close relationship for three years, and he doesn’t even want to use the word break up. Because they have never been together.
Yes, she’s just a dispensable bed partner, a substitute for his sweetheart. What rights does she have to yell at Winston?
Elsa is back, why else should she still stay by him? She knew that he was just using her, she knew that she would have to leave some day, but she still can’t bear to know the truth.
After all, she’s not over the past three years.
"Winston, I’ve been with you for three years, shouldn’t you tell me in advance for such a big thing, so I can prepare?" Vera’s voice was a bit pained.
Hearing Vera’s words, he was obviously displeased: "I told you one night in advance, and I also arranged a place for you to stay. What else do you want?"
Vera’s eyes were red in an instant, and she turned to look to the other side, not wanting the haughty and indifferent man to see the humbleness and tears in her eyes.
But the harder she was, the more obvious her choking.
Winston frowned, folded his long arms, and took Vera into his arms.
"This is wronged? I like women who knows when to step forward and when to step back, don’t cry, huh?" After that, the hand that controls the lives of hundreds in air rubbed into her nightdress.
