Chapter 59: Not a Good Koi Fish
“Ah Sheng, I’m telling you, live-stream is really fun. In addition, I’ve collected so much Power of Faith, more in the past two days than I’ve done from all the spiritual objects I’ve eaten so far. Besides, all the fans are so interesting! They...” With his hands up in the air, his feet tripping, Yu Jinli shared all the interesting episodes happened during his live-stream with Jiang Mosheng. In fact, Jiang Mosheng knew most of that, but it felt different as he heard it from the little one again. He loved to see his little one so lively and enjoyed that the little one shared everything with him. After his recovery, he would take the little one to another planet. He believed that the little one would like it. Yu Jinli was telling his stories and Jiang Mosheng was fantasizing about the bright future. At this point, the door burst open again, interrupting the two’s movements and fantasies. The two turned to the door at the same time. Qiao Mulan, who just burst in, suddenly felt a bit awkward to be looked at by the kids. She had been worrying that when she wasn’t home Yu Jinli would go to Jiang Mosheng, be rejected and hide himself in a corner, crying and heartbroken. Therefore, she hurried back home as soon as she finished work. When she heard that Yu Jinli was in Jiang Mosheng’s room, her worries rose to the extreme so she acted in spite of etiquette and broke in. However, it didn’t in the least seem to her that her son had refused little chestnut or little chestnut was heartbroken. There was still smile on Little Chestnut’s face. She could tell he was happy. Her son looked at little chestnut gently with affection and didn’t seem like he would refuse anything. So, what was happening? “You guys?” Qiao Mulan didn’t know how to lighten up the mood anymore. Yu Jinli had always been slow. Seeing that Qiao Mulan had returned home, he ran to her and held her arm intimately as he said smilingly: “Mom, you are home. I was telling Ah Sheng about live-stream.” “Live-stream?” She didn’t know that Yu Jinli had been doing live-stream. “Yes, I’ve started live-stream cooking and have a lot of viewers,” showed off Yu Jinli proudly. His cooking had a lot of fans, though it seemed at the moment everyone was more interested in koi fish. No matter what the viewers were interested in, they were interested in him in the end. He was happy as long as he could collect Power of Faith. “Really? When’s your next live-stream? I’m going to watch as well.” Seeing that Yu Jinli didn’t feel bad at all, Qiao Mulan finally felt relieved. Perhaps, things weren’t like what she had thought. It seemed that she needed to have a chat with her son. It would be nice if the two could fall in love. “I will start live-stream when I cook dinner this evening. I’ll tell you when I start, mom.” Happy that he had one more viewer, Yu Jinli started to think what to cook for dinner. “Sure. Have you had lunch yet?” asked Qiao Mulan with concern. When she left in the morning, Yu Jinli was still asleep and missed breakfast so she wondered if he had had lunch. “Yes. Chef Zheng’s cooking has improved,” praised Yu Jinli generously. “*Ahem...” Jiang Mosheng, who had been ignored wanted to make his presence felt desperately. Ever since the little one was here, Jiang Mosheng felt that his status in the family really plummeted. Sometimes he wondered whether he or the little one was his mother’s son. Yet he was happy and proud to see that both his mom and dad loved the little one. Hearing Jiang Mosheng’s coughs, one important matter suddenly occurred to Yu Jinli that he didn’t bring nutrition preparation with him when he came here which meant the golden coattail hadn’t had lunch till now. God, not only hadn’t he treated his golden coattail for the past two days, but he also starved him. He wasn’t a good koi fish. After he took over the job of "feeding" Jiang Mosheng, he was basically in charge of Jiang Meosheng’s three meals a day. However, he didn’t check on golden coattail for the past two days and didn’t bring him food so... Immediately, his eyes were filled with tears and manifest guilt as he looked at Jiang Mosheng. Neither Jiang Mosheng nor Qiao Mulan knew why Yu Jinli who was all excited a moment ago suddenly became depressed and looked like he was about to cry which gave them a heartache at once. “What’s the matter, little chestnut? Are you sick?” Qiao Mulan asked hurriedly. “Little one, come here. Let me see,” said Jiang Mosheng hastily. If he could get out of bed now, he would have held the little one in his arms already. Since he knew cultivation, Jiang Mosheng learned how to administer treatment from Yu Jinli so that he could do the same thing for the little one afterwards. It didn’t occur to him that he would be able to use it so soon. He would rather that he didn’t need it for his life than to have the little one injured. Simply shaking his head, Yu Jinli said: “I’m alright. It’s just I haven’t brought Ah Sheng nutrition preparation for the past two days. Are you hungry, Ah Sheng? I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean it. I’m not a good koi fish anymore.” Instinctively, both Qiao Mulan and Jiang Mosheng ignored the last part of his words which didn’t make any sense to them. Having learned what frustrated him, the two didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Little chestnut, he isn’t hungry. Every day, there are people who bring him food. Don’t worry about him.” Stroking Yu Jinli on the head gently, Qiao Mulan was happy to see the kindness in this child. “Really?” asked Yu Jinli with tears still in his eyes and a bit of anticipation. “Of course. I’ve had a meal just before you are here. Otherwise, who sent for you?” said Jiang Mosheng hurriedly, afraid that the little one who was prone to wild imagination still felt bad. Hearing that Jiang Mosheng hadn’t been starved, Yu Jinli finally felt relieved but made up his mind that he wouldn’t forget to bring his golden coattail meals anymore. It would be a great loss if the golden coattail’s impression of him turned bad. Seeing that Yu Jinli and Jiang Mosheng were getting along quite well, Qiao Mulan was relieved for the time being. When she left, she warned her son once again with her eyes that he was not allowed to bully little chestnut. Jiang Mosheng was somewhat helpless when he saw that. Although he didn’t know what was on his mom’s mind, how could he possibly bully the little one since he loved him so dearly? Yu Jinli’s mood lifted since his golden coattail hadn’t been starved and didn’t make a fuss about him not showing up to give him treatment these two days. He told Jiang Mosheng again about matters of cultivation that his master shifu and sect-brother had instructed him, which solved a few small confusions Jiang Mosheng had with his cultivation, making it to a higher level. The further he went, the more surprised Jiang Mosheng was to find the change in him. At times, he could even see the inside of his body which was beyond belief. He had driven the toxin to a corner of his body with spirit power protecting his heart from the harm of toxin and fixed other injured part. He was getting better. He had a feeling that he would be in a better state than he was before after a full recovery. As a Grade S mutant, he might be able to get to Grade SS when he fully recovered. There wasn’t a Grade SS in the whole galaxy so far. If he succeeded, he would be the first one. That thought made him a person who had always been calm excited. It was an instinct to pursue power. Nobody disliked more of it. …… After Qiao Mulan left Jiang Mosheng’s room, she ran into Jiang Zhentao who just returned from the military headquarter and didn’t look well. “What happened? What did those guys do?” She walked to Jiang Zhentao and sat next to him with her slender hand stroking him on the back tenderly, her eyes full of gentleness and love. Jiang Zhentao was head of the three federal marshals. Unlike an empire, in order to keep the Head of Federation in check, the three marshals also had the power to rule as an equal to Head of Federation, which held the balance of power. Both the Head of Federation and the three marshals were re-elected once every ten years by members of Parliament and the people. Without making major mistakes, marshals were generally re-elected because of military achievements. However, unless having made great contributions, Head of Federation was a different story. The next election would come in a year. As one of the three federal marshals, though Jiang Zhentao had made great military achievements he wasn’t suitable to be re-elected as a marshal for his health had deteriorated since he was injured in war against the Zerg. In fact, it wouldn’t affect Jiang Family even if he wasn’t going to be re-elected as marshal since he had found a successor who would no doubt be elected as marshal. As Jiang Zhentao’s successor, naturally he would consider for the benefit of Jiang Family. With Jiang Mosheng alive, Jiang Family would remain in the first tier. Though Jiang Mosheng was merely a Major General, at the age of 30, he was promising young talent. It would only take time before he was a marshal which meant nobody could intimidate Jiang Family’s position. However, Jiang Mosheng was also injured because of Zerg toxin, even on the verge of death once. People and forces that once didn’t dare to act against Jiang Family began to rise to the occasion, even beating down Jiang Family in secret. There were also people who started to pick fault with Jiang Zhentao’s successor, obviously wanting Jiang Zhentao to hand his position over and take Jiang Family down. The last few times he was at the military headquarter, he was excluded by accident and design. However, since he was still a marshal with a lot of loyal followers, no extreme actions were taken against him but he still felt sick about what happened.
