Chapter 64: Jealous
Having eaten at Jiang Family almost as often as his own since he was a child, Shen Qian didn’t bother with formalities. After everyone started to move their chopsticks, he didn’t hesitate and aimed for the dish he had his eyes on.
As young lord of Shen Family, he had had a lot of natural food before, whether made by his own chef or at restaurants. He even had had dishes made by families of chefs once or twice.
However, none was as good as what he had this time. It was earthly delicious. No, it should have been... only available in heaven, and seldom heard of on earth.
“Little chestnut, that’s what I heard Aunt Qiao call you. Can I call you that too?” asked Shen Qian smilingly as he looked at Yu Jinli with glowing eyes.
He hadn’t paid much attention to Jiang Mosheng’s little fiancé before. However, because of this meal, he was completely overwhelmed by his cooking skills.
If he could eat such delicious food every day, he would be willing to marry Yu Jinli as well.
Compared to what he ate today, the dishes he had had in the past were simply garbage in retrospect!
Ever since his childhood, Jiang Mosheng, a poker face, was always luckier than he was.
At school, Jiang Mosheng had better grades.
In the army, Jiang Mosheng made more military merit and earned a higher rank.
That aside, now that Jiang Mosheng was dying of injuries, he had found a such an amazing fiancé. Jiang Mosheng was totally a public enemy!
Shen Qian felt so jealous of him!
Moreover, Jiang Mosheng who had been poisoned by such potent toxin could actually crawl back from hell with increasing self-healing power. Could it be that the King of Hell was frightened by his poker face so that he sent him back?
Unspoken criticism came to Shen Qian who was quite displeased.
However, Shen Qian wasn’t the only one nursing unspoken criticism. Jiang Mosheng wasn’t happy about this good friend of his either.
He didn’t mind if Shen Qian insisted to be a freeloader at the dinner table. But how dare Shen Qian look at his little one ingratiatingly while calling him little chestnut?
Little chestnut wasn’t proper for Shen Qian at all. Little chestnut had nothing to do with Shen Qian. There was no need for that intimacy.
Sour at heart, Jiang Mosheng wished he could kick Shen Qian out now.
Pity that Yu Jinli didn’t notice Jiang Mosheng’s secret frustration at all and answered readily: “Of course.”
Yu Jinli loved to see others enjoy his cooking, which gave him a sense of accomplishment.
“Little chestnut, your cooking is amazing, even better than that of families of chefs. Can you tell me what is this? I’ve never had anything like this before,” said Shen Qian excitedly.
As a natural socializer, besides being in his good friend’s home, he was quite at ease.
“It’s sweet and sour pork ribs, made with pork ribs and some condiments,” introduced Yu Jinli smilingly.
Though Shen Qian was still confused after Yu Jinli’s explanation, he was happy. “Little chestnut, how did you come up with this? It tastes great!”
This question was a difficult one for Yu Jinli. After all, he had learned about cooking from men in his previous world. It was something he shouldn’t take credit for. While in this world, nobody knew anything about good food. He didn’t know how to answer it.
“Aren’t all the good food enough to keep you from talking? If you don’t want to eat, get out!” Having seen how troubled and divided Yu Jinli was, Jiang Mosheng glared at Shen Qian.
He knew the little one had his secrets, including cultivation and the delicious food. Since the little one didn’t want to talk about it, he wouldn’t force him. In addition, he would protect the little one from harm.
These secrets might threaten the little one’s safety, which meant he would guard them even more tightly.
“I was just asking. How could I say no to all the delicious food made by little chestnut? I want to eat it every day. Little chestnut, you won’t mind if I come here for dinner every day, will you?” asked Shen Qian brazenly.
