Chapter 69: Great !
Yu Hongrui was already burning with rage because of what happened with Jiang Mosheng. However, now that Yu Jinsheng touched a sore spot, it made Yu Hongrui more furious.
His turned his angry eyes to Yu Jinsheng who was so frightened that he took a step back.
“Dad...” called Yu Jinsheng timidly.
“Get out!” Yu Hongrui screamed at his son.
Yu Jinsheng couldn’t believe that his dad who always pampered him would lose his temper in front of him and told him to get out which irritated him. Stumping his feet, he turned around and ran away.
On the one side, it was her husband who was in rage, on the other side, it was her son who got annoyed and left. Right now, Sun Dumei didn’t know whether to console her husband or son first. She knew little about what her husband was up to. But she knew that because of Jiang Mosheng’s recovery, it wouldn’t be easy to take down Jiang Family this time, which meant Yu Family would remain a level below Jiang Family. That drove her ambitious husband crazy.
“Hongrui, have you forgotten that Jiang Mosheng has become a good for nothing? There is no one who could recover after a broken super core. Even if he is better now, he is still a good for nothing. He won’t be a threat to our family. We still have chance against Jiang Family.” Sun Dumei comforted her husband.
Jiang Mosheng’s broken super core was confirmed by doctors so everyone at a high level in the military headquarter knew it.
Because of what Sun Dumei said, Yu Hongrui finally recalled that and felt a bit better.
Right, like what his wife had said, even if Jiang Mosheng was better now, he was still a good for nothing. It was still a problem whether Jiang Mosheng would be able to return to military headquarter. It wasn’t time to worry yet.
Having come around, Yu Hongrui finally calmed down. He turned to his wife worriedly and kissed her a bit apologetically as he said: “Sorry to have you worried. About Sheng-er...”
“Don’t worry. I’ll talk to him later,” said Sun Dumei smilingly.
What happened at Yu Family had no effect on the high spirits of those at Jiang Family.
After the press conference, Jiang Mosheng returned home directly with the excuse that he needed rest and didn’t stay for the meeting at military headquarter.
His recovery was not only a sensation throughout the nation, but also among military headquarter.
“Good lord. Ah Sheng is alright now. You didn’t tell me about it at all. I almost thought I was dreaming when I watched the press conference,” said Tang Qixu when he saw Jiang Zhentao and knocked him on the shoulder.
Jiang Zhentao told no one about the press conference for he meant it to be a surprise so that his enemies wouldn’t have time to act against him.
“He has only been better recently. If it wasn’t for all the wild rumors online, I wouldn’t have let him show up,” said Jiang Zhentao smilingly.
“Marshal Jiang, you are good at keeping secrets. I didn’t hear a thing about it. Otherwise, I would have visited Major General Jiang. He is my son-in-law after all. I need to give him a visit or I’ll draw criticism,” said Yu Hongrui unhappily.
Well played, Jiang Zhentao. Last meeting at military headquarter, he acted sad as if his son was dying. Now that a week hardly passed, he threw a press conference. Yu Hongrui didn’t believe that Jiang Mosheng simply got better recently.
If he knew Jiang Mosheng was getting better, he would have come up with another plan. Nor would he let Jiang Mosheng recover smoothly. Yet he made a false step. He overestimated the potency of Zerg Overmind’s poison.
Jiang Zhentao heard Yu Hongrui and put on a fake smile as he said: “Please don’t worry about Ah Sheng. Both Ah Sheng and little chestnut are in good shape. Thanks to little chestnut who has been taking good care of Ah Sheng so that he can recover soon.”
Intentionally, Jiang Zhentao brought up Yu Jinli in order to remind Yu Hongrui what he had done and how he treated his little son. Now that Yu Family didn’t want Yu Jinli, Jiang Family did.
As expected, Yu Hongrui’s face turned uglier after he heard Yu Jinli’s name. He couldn’t even keep up the show and left after a few angry remarks.
Tang Qixu and Jiang Zhentao had a small chat before they said goodbyes.
At the training room of the First Legion, all members of Divine Beast gathered. They looked serious with undisguised excitement.
Even though there were only seven members, it was an elite team which had completed one difficult task after another under Jiang Mosheng’s leadership.
Since Jiang Mo Sheng’s incident, the members had been in very low spirits with heavy heart until they saw their chief on the big screen. Their mood was like a roller coaster ride with ups and downs.
“Have you watched it? Chief has recovered. He has recovered!” said White Tiger excitedly. An iron-boned man he was, he had tears of excitement in his eyes at this moment.
So were his teammates.
“I want to visit him,” said Phoenix again.
A few days ago, she proposed a visit to Jiang Mosheng. Then, members of Divine Beast went to Jiang’s Manor together. However, like usual, they didn’t get to meet their chief which made them frustrated for days on end.
Now that chief had appeared on screen, he would meet them, right?
Clearly, everyone had the same idea when they looked at each other in the eye.
All members of Divine Beast were trained by Jiang Mosheng. They acted quickly. The moment they made an agreement, they set out.
However, they didn’t head to Jiang’s Manor first but Jiang Zhentao’s office.
When he saw the members of Divine Beast outside his office, Jiang Zhentao said directly as if he had expected it: “Come with me later.”
Overjoyed, the members stood outside straight and with a serious face as if on duty, waiting for Jiang Zhentao to finish his work.
Jiang Zhentao couldn’t help but smiling faintly when he saw those members outside his door.
He had a good impression of his son’s subordinates. When his son was hurt, it was those men who risked their lives and carried his son off the battlefield. Without them, he might not be able to see his son again, let alone a recovered son.
Later, Jiang Mosheng was dying in home, those men would show up in front of Jiang’s Manor every day. Just because his son didn’t want his team members to see him in a weak state and didn’t want them to feel guilty, they weren’t allowed inside.
The last time those members were here, they weren’t allowed to see Jiang Mosheng because his recovery was kept in secret. He knew they must have been worried sick.
Now that his son had made public appearance. There was no need to hide anything and members of Divine Beast could visit Jiang Mosheng. He knew they were worried about Jiang Mosheng so he took care of his work in the shortest possible time and brought them home.
When Jiang Zhentao was home, he saw Qiao Mulan sitting on the sofa, surfing on star-net.
She saw the members of Divine Beast arrive with her husband and said smilingly: “Ah Sheng is on the second floor. Go and find him.”
“All right,” answered them excitedly as they headed upstairs.
Time and again, they wanted to come inside, wanted to know how chief was. Now that they could finally meet him, they were suddenly timid.
It didn’t take a long way to reach the second floor. However, it took them a good few minutes. Which never happened before.
“Don’t worry. Ah Sheng is fine now.” Careful as she was, Qiao Mulan noticed what was happening and consoled them gently.
She had a favorable impression of his son’s team members who would often come over in the past. Qiao Mulan saw them as junior members of her family.
Standing in front of the door to Jiang Mosheng’s room. Members looked at each other blankly, urging others to knock on the door while not daring to do it themselves.
On the other side of the wall, Yu Jinli saw everything clearly and was confused.
Right after cultivation, he wanted to test how far his spirit consciousness would go so he opened it and started out from this room when he saw members of Divine Beast push and shove outside the door.
“Ah Sheng, there are people at your door who don’t dare to come in,” said Yu Jinli with a tipping head.
Members of Divine Beast hadn’t decided who to take the initiative yet. To their surprise, the door opened itself. The one they had longed to see but didn’t dare to meet was right in front of them.
All members were stunned as they stared blankly at their chief.
With a tight frown, Jiang Mosheng wasn’t happy to have a bunch of idiot members. Besides, little chestnut was watching! What was this stupid expression about? It was an embarrassment.
It was the first time Jiang Mosheng wasn’t happy with his team.
“Are you here to stare at me blankly? Everyone, double your training after you leave,” said Jiang Mosheng coldly.
“Yes!” This time, everyone was quick and answered immediately.
It was their leader, their chief. Everything remained the same. The same expression, the same man. Their chief did recover. He could shout at them. He could put on a cold expression. He wasn’t going to die anymore.
Great!
