Chapter 70 Wait for Me
After asking every colleague to write down the report, Lesly was indeed more unpopular than the employees.
But she didn’t care. It was a necessary process to deal with the internal affairs of the company.
At five o’clock in the afternoon, they set off to the camping site on the top of the hill behind the resort.
They asked a guide to take them up the mountain. After arriving at their destination, the guide specifically told them not to go into the woods to wander because it was easy to get lost. If they weren’t careful enough, they would go to another mountain.
After giving some advice, the guide went back down the mountain. He would come back to guide them the next morning.
The colleagues formed their own teams, selected campsites, and set up tents.
Hollie had already decided to take Lesly’s side, so she followed Lesly the whole trip up the mountain. Their tents were next to each other.
The sky gradually darkened.
They set up bonfires, grilled meat, and danced around the bonfires. The atmosphere was warm.
On the other side, Lesly and Hollie’s tents looked lifeless.
Lesly did not care. She video called Lucca.
Lucca answered the call with a lifeless and annoyed face.
Lesly became nervous. "What’s wrong, Lucca? Why are you so listless?"
Lucca curled his lips unhappily, revealing his rare childish side.
"That man Finley is so annoying." He said unhappily, "Mommy, come back and chase him away."
"I’m not annoying!" Finley shouted through the call, "I’m obviously cute and well-behaved. I’ll do whatever Lucca asks me to do. I’m the definition of obedient!"
Lucca said angrily, "I’m not your teacher! Don’t simply call me!"
"You are my teacher. Since you drank the water I poured for you, you are my teacher!"
"I’m not! No!"
The two of them had a childish quarrel, which made Lesly laugh.
Lucca had always been mature. Usually, she was too calm and collected. She didn’t have any vitality like a child at all. Now she was lively and lovely when she quarreled with Finley.
After they finished quarreling, Lesly chatted with Lucca for a while. She learned that Amya had taken Lulu to the night market.
After hanging up the call with Lucca, Lesly called Amya, but Amya did not answer the call.
Perhaps Amya was driving on the road and did not hear the phone.
Lesly decided to wait for a while before calling again.
On the other side.
Amya took Lulu to the night market and ate a lot of snacks. As a result, her stomach was bloated and she felt a little uncomfortable.
Amya was very remorseful. She was afraid that Lulu would have a stomachache, so she took Lulu to the neighborhood for a walk.
After walking for a while, they passed through the playground, revealing Lulu’s playfulness. She begged to go to the sandpit to play. Amya couldn’t stop her, so she could only let Lulu play.
There were many kids there. Since Lulu was cheerful and beautiful, she make some friends easily. Several children build a sandcastle together.
Amya stayed by her side and felt bored. She began to play with her phone.
At that moment, she discovered that Lesly had called her half an hour ago.
Amya called back. The call was picked up quickly, but the signal wasn’t good. Lesly’s voice was blurred and couldn’t be heard clearly.
"Lesly?" Amya walked around while talking, looking for a place with a good signal. "Can you hear me? Lesly?"
After playing around for a while, Lulu suddenly noticed a familiar figure walking across the sandpit.
That figure was tall and straight. The figure wore a neat suit, looking stern and steady. He looked like... the back of her father in her dream.
"Dad..." Lulu muttered, stopped playing, and ran after him.
She didn’t know what was wrong with herself, it was as if she was dreaming. Everything around her faded away, she could only see the man in front of her. That figure looked real and attracted all her attention.
She ran after him desperately and shouted, "Wait for me, Dad. Wait for me..."
She chased him for a long time but her legs were too short. No matter how hard she tried to run, the distance between them was getting farther and farther away.
Lulu was so flustered that she began to cry. She shouted, regardless of the situation, "Dad, stop!"
Those words were really effective. The figure immediately stopped as expected.
He slowly turned around, glanced at Lulu, and then strode towards her.
