Chapter 74 Her past 3

Abhi was about to go to his room to sleep when he heard his phone ringing. It was his grandfather again. He answered his phone and asked calmly "It hasn’t been even a single day, and you already called again. Are you missing your grandson that badly old man ?" Grandpa : "you Idiot, Don’t be so full of yourself. Listen to me first. I have an important issue to talk to you." Abhi said with the same calm tone " what is it now ?" Grandpa signed and said "That kid Gouthami is coming to India. She just came here and told us all about it." Abhi didn’t react to his grandpa’s words and said "It’s not my problem though". Elder Malhotra was taken aback by his grandson’s words and thought ’what does he mean by the words, it’s not my problem’. Elder was so angry and yelled "Then whose problem is it. I know that it’s that idiot’s ?". Abhi frowned and said "Then ask your other grandson," he then said "Oh by the way that girl has nothing to do with me and I am happy with my own girlfriend here, so don’t disturb me again on this matter". Before Elder could process his words and question him again, Abhi disconnected the call and smiled to himself. * * * * * * Next morning at Abhi’s Mansion, Shriya and Preeti were still sleeping soundly when Abhi entered their room with a glass milk. That morning Abhi as usual went for a morning run and when he returned no one was there in the hall. When he asked the maid "’where is everyone else ?" she answered everyone except him are sleeping. So he went to see them. Shriya woke up with the sound of the door opening and she wished him ’good morning’ in a hoarse and sleepy voice. He nodded his head and said ’good morning’. Preeti also woke up and when she saw Abhi there, she jumped right his arms like a dancing kitten. He held her in his arms and kissed her forehead. When Shriya saw what Preeti did, she said to the latter in a taunting tone "You are not a kid anymore, don’t jump around as you like and don’t jump his arms. okay ? " she said with a little angered expression on her face. Preeti looked at her sister and then back at Abhi in a confused way and seeing her innocent face Abhi shook his head and said to Preeti consoling her "Don’t listen to her. You will always be my little princess," he then kissed her on her forehead and smiled. She nodded happily at him. * * * * * * Brahmini and Sony went to college and when they saw that Shriya didn’t come even when the class started, they decided to call her. When they called her she told them that she has some important work and she couldnot attend the classes for that day. Abhi got ready in his usual wear to go to his shoot, he wore grey track pants paired with a black v neck t shirt and a pair of white sneakers. Just when he was having breakfast with all the other members, his phone rang and he answered it. Shriya understood that he was talking to Naveen and he realised that Abhi asked him to come to work that day. She thought to herself ’why did Abhi call him now ? He is supposed to be on leave for three days and from the talks of it it seemed Naveen had agreed to come to work.’ She thought about it but couldnot get any reason for it. She just ignored whatever it might be as she thought Abhi knows what he is doing and it is irrelevant for her to think about it. Just then Rahul who was silent the entire time cleared his throat to get attention from others and looked around. Everyone present at the table looked at him except his brother, who was eating his breakfast with concentration. Rahul spoke after a little hesitation "Bhai, you should help me. She will be here in two days". Abhi didn’t bother to raise his head and said while still looking down and eating from his plate "It’s not my problem." Rahul don’t how to explain to his brother, his pain, he thought in his brain ’this devil always finds a way to escape at the right time’ but he decided to beg his brother for help for some "please brother, help me this one time. " Abhi at last looked at his brother’s face which looked pale white and it seemed like like he was about to cry, Abhi found it too cute and he teased "Mom is sending me a girlfriend and I am happy about it, if you have any problem with it, it’s not my problem, if you need my help, I can ask mom to send you one too." This time Shriya was the one who was shocked to hear Abhi’s words. She looked at him dazed. Rahul was furious hearing this "Fine, I can’t handle her anymore either, I will just choose a new girlfriend, but I think you have another problem" and his gaze landed on Shriya’s face. Abhi too looked at Shriya and the look on her face made Abhi so happy. He was in cloud nine when her face was filled with jealousy. When Abhi spoke to Preeti, Shriya felt that she was the happiest person on this earth at that moment. She could see the love and care in his eyes for her and her sister. She felt fortunate to be with him and she hoped that everything remains the same in the future too but she thought that asking this for a life time is her greed and she thought she should be thankful to god for this great fortune. She was so happy that day and was on cloud nine until she heard the words ’mom is sending me a girlfriend’ from Abhi. She was shocked to hear it and when he said ’I don’t have any problem with it’, she felt like a bomb has exploded in her heart. But when he looked at her she composed herself and tried her best to hide her efeelings but she knew he saw through her and didn’t bother to hide her unhappiness after that. Abhi smiled at her teasingly and said in an indifferent tone "I can’t help it but to follow mom’s orders". Shriya stared at him, and Rahul sighed deeply. He knew it would be a waste of his time to talk to his brother at this moment and he also knew his brother will do something about it afterall his brother cares for him so much. So he decided to shut his mouth for the time being. Just then Manvi and Uday came directly to the dining table, Uday looked so full of energy while Manvi looked a little tired. They joined the others atn the dinning table and the maids served them breakfast. Manvi sat beside Shriya and her husband sat next to Rahul. Shriya and Manvi greeted each other as it’s been sometime since they met each other. Manvi hasn’t been attending college for the last two days and there was not even a phone call from her in the last couple of days. Both the girls started talking to each other and Rahul saw the tired look of Manvi and had a mischievous smile on his face. He said to Uday in a low voice "You should control yourself bro, at this rate you will drain all your energy in the next couple of days. You will be out of crease in no time." Though Rahul said these words in a low voice Shriya and Manvi are able to listen to him as they were sitting just opposite to them. Shriya looked at the person next to her and Manvi’s cheeks became red at the same moment. Shriya couldn’t help but smile seeing this. Uday also made a pride face, smiled viciously and said "I am fine my boy but you should think of yourself afterall you didn’t even start to bat yet," he patted Rahul’s head with his hand and winked at him. Rahul was dumbfounded by his words and he thought he must have seen something bad early in the morning as everyone is teasing him. Everyone smiled to see his flustered expressions. Abhi, Rahul and Uday left for work leaving the girls to enjoy among themselves.
