Chapter 26 The Job
When Marilyn entered the kitchen, she was taken aback. She was shocked at the scene in front of her. She had never imagined like this: the assistant was cutting the vegetables. The first-hand chef was busy with preparatory work, and the chefs were also busy on the side. It was like a battle field.
"The place where you wash the bowls is behind the kitchen. The waiter will bring you the dirty plates. After you finish washing, you put them back on the shelf. They will be taken by someone." The man took her the kitchen and showed her around to help her adapted the environment.
"To be honest, I didn’t expect that you would agree to work here. But we need the dishwasher so hurriedly." "At that time, you were quiet and didn’t draw in the way others did, so I came to ask you first. I didn’t expect that you would say yes. "
"I have no choice. I have to work," she answered.
The man continued, "don’t worry. My boss is soft hearted. As long as you do your work hard and don’t make any mistakes, he won’t fire you."
After saying that, the man took her to her workplace. "Here we are. The noon market just passed, and you are going to be very busy in the night market later. I’m the manager here. If you need anything, just tell me. We’ll have dinner at half past four. The guests will arrive at around five o’clock, so we have dinner very early. "
"Okay, thank you." After saying thanks to him, she started to work.
Sure enough, around six o’clock in the evening, Marilyn was extremely busy. As soon as she washed one plate, there were three plates on the table. She was so careful that she put each plate in a clean place after checking it. She knew that it was for food so it must be clean. So she must pay more attention to it.
In this way, Marilyn was washing the dishes and it was already seven o’clock in the evening. Suddenly, there was noise in the kitchen. Marilyn was already feeling sore in the back and there were still many dishes waiting for her to wash, so she did not go to see what happened.
When she raised her head again, she saw the man who gave her the room card in the rain last time. He stood in front of her and said, "Miss Marilyn, please go with me."
"I was working." Marilyn knew he was a man of Ethan. She didn’t know what he meant, and her first reaction was to resist him.
The man was followed by the owner of the restaurant. "Oh, please, you’re so noble. Hurry up. We don’t want you anymore."
Before she could ask why, her boss interrupted her. "You are Ethan’s woman. How dare we hire you to be a dish washing worker? Just show some mercy and let go of this small restaurant."
Marilyn didn’t say anything. The guards of Ethan invited her to leave with respect. "I’m not leaving," she said defiantly.
"Miss Marilyn, it’s my task to take you back. If you don’t do as I said, I will be in a dilemma."
"That’s my own business. It has nothing to do with him where I work. Why does he ask me to leave?" Said Marilyn.
"If so, I’m sorry, Miss Marilyn." The man took her by her hand and forced her to get in the car. The car then started and drove to the hotel.
After Marilyn was taken back to the hotel, the man who brought her back left. As soon as she entered the room, she saw Ethan was dealing with his business at the desk on the side of the bedroom. When she saw him, he just raised his head and said, "you’re back." Ethan replied calmly.
"You are amazing, Ethan!" "Why don’t you just tie me up so that I can’t go anywhere?"
Ethan raised his head and looked at her carefully for a few seconds. His stare made her uneasy. Then he said, "good idea. I’m worried about that. Thank you for your advice. I’ll think it over and see if I need to do that. "
"You..." Marilyn didn’t expect Ethan to say that and she didn’t want to talk to him either. As she walked towards the bathroom, she only wanted to take a bath to relax herself.
When Marilyn walked the bathroom without glancing at him, he returned to his work.
Half an hour later, Marilyn put on her pajamas and wiped her half dried hair with a towel. When her hair was almost dry, she directly lay down on the bed, tiredly lying in a big word, regardless of her own image.
In fact, sometimes, she did not find that in front of Ethan, she had no camouflage, and that was what she really looked like.
Although Ethan seemed to be very busy with the documents in his hands, his eyes had been fixed on Marilyn when she came out of the bathroom. Marilyn’s worn out look made the Ethan’s heart ache, but he knew his concern for her didn’t work on her at all. She even resisted his help.
Therefore, he changed another way, "if you want to find a job, I can help you."
"No, thanks. I got a good job today. My boss has hired me if it weren’t for you." She directly refused his kindness.
"Marilyn, after all these things, how can you still be so naive? If you want to take back your family property and divorce Leon, don’t you have to rely on the skills you have learned for so many years to fight for the position?" "Can you get a divorce or take the money from home if you washed 1000 plates?" he asked.
She didn’t know how to explain to his. That made sense to her anyway.
Marilyn turned over without saying anything.
Seeing her reaction, Ethan knew that Marilyn had been convinced by him. But he could not bring it up. She always said with iron teeth. He had to find another way.
"Do you want to make a deal with me?" Ethan said casually as he sorted out the documents.
"What deal?" She turned to him and asked.
"I know your consideration. You do need a job. I can provide you with one, but I owe it to you." Ethan paused for a while and then said, "you have to pay the money back."
"How?" She was confused.
"I know you have looked for a job on the street and checked the talent market, but you know the result. As I said, if you want your things back, an ordinary dishwasher or a pianist will never let you take things back. I can hire a professional lawyer team, or a special task team for you, regardless of your divorce, any of your previous cases, or any of them, will be done for you. " Ethan said firmly.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I’ve told you that I didn’t help you for nothing. I lent you all these." Ethan said.
"How should I pay you back?" She had nothing now. What could she give to him.
"Don’t worry. It’s not about murder or arson. I haven’t made a decision yet. By that time, I will take back from you when I know it." Said Ethan, but he saw the hesitation in her mind, so he continued asking her on purpose, "don’t tell me you dare not to take the deal."
Marilyn kept silent as she knew he was just bluffing. Ethan said, "anyway, this is the worst case you’re facing. Why are you still hesitating? At least this is the most effective way for you right now. Take it as I look for money from you. When you take back your company, I will ask you for more."
In fact, the man in front of her didn’t have a crush on her wealth at all. She might not be richer than him, but he said so much to make her accept his kindness, which made her wonder why he was so good to her.
"Why do you help me?" she asked straightforwardly.
Instead of answering her directly, he said, "I’m a kind-hearted man. I don’t want to see the Lin family and your stepmother bully you like this. I never use any reason to do things."
He stood up and left the table.
He looked at her and asked her with his eyes, "how is it? Do you dare to make this deal with me?"
Marilyn looked at him in the eye and understood what he meant. She thought about the whole thing. He was right. Now she had fallen a bottomless abyss, it was not easy to fight back. Now that she had received professional opinions and professional team, how could she refuse.
Besides, Ethan had said that he lend it to her and she would pay it back in the future. Marilyn believed that she was a man of honor. Since he said it clearly, it would be a good idea.
He looked at her and knew that she had thought it over. So he was about to shake hands with her, waiting for her reply.
"Deal." After that, she held his hand and they reached an agreement.
Ethan smiled. Things went as he had expected.
When he saw the confidence in her eyes, he was flipped. This woman was really like the woman he had imagined before. She was smart when smart, lazy when lazy, simple when simple.
Thinking of this, he came closer to Marilyn and said, "well, then take it as interest." After that, he kissed on her lips.
